Dishonest Salesman, Unreasonable Management, Terrible Customer Service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
This is the worst company I've dealt with in the Pittsburgh area. We needed urgent repair/replacement of our gutters and were very clear about that with the salesman. Salesman said the work would be done in 4-6 weeks but he would ensure it was a "priority order." After 4 weeks I began calling to figure out when the work might be done. It took me several weeks of calling to be able to talk to the one person in the office that had any knowledge of the installation schedule. It took so long to find someone helpful that we considered calling the police and reporting a sales scam. Once we finally talked to the installation manager, he said it would be approximately 6-8 weeks before installation. While upset, we couldn't do much of anything because we had already paid half of the cost. A long story and many angry phone calls later the gutters were finally installed over 13 weeks after we placed the order. The Champion salesman (Rick) was completely dishonest in telling us how long it would take for the work to be completed. When I confronted the installation manager about this issue he said his salesmen would never make that statement. The installation manager (Dave) was not understanding whatsoever. Even when the work was not complete after 3 months when we were told it would take 4-6 weeks, he refused to admit that they had breached the contract, despite the delay being entirely their fault (not due to a delay in delivery of material or weather preventing installation). I even notified Champion Corporate customer service. I explained the situation to a representative and was told that they would follow up with me the following day. Two months later, I'm still waiting for the call. Do yourself and don't make the same mistake that I did: Do not use Champion Windows for any household work. Try and find a company that actually cares about their customers, not one that abuses their customers because they can't afford to walk away from their deposit.

Bad Warranty

We purchased Champion Windows for our house approximately 10 years ago. One of the reasons we chose Champion was for the warranty.

When it came time to make a warranty claim for 3 defective windows, they were more than happy to order new ones and replace them. They never, ever mentioned there would be a $99 trip charge. It was not until the windows were installed and they asked for money. I will admit the warranty states this, however, I feel it was wrong to not mention this during the phone call to schedule the appointment or during the visit to look at the windows.

It is also wrong to charge for an obvious defect in their product.

This 24 mile trip cost us $99. Defeats the purpose of a warranty.

Screens for Windows

Bought house with a Champion Windows Sun Room . Warranty is not covered because I'm a new home owner.

Don't stand behind Windows or screens .Have to pay Warranty of $175.00 a year. Then for parts. The worst warranty I have ever come in contact . I would advise anyone not to use this company.

After sell you are on your own. Name of company has a big name. But, service forget it. There are other companies in area you may want to try.

A little hard to get in contact with them. But, now I'm having to write 100 words .

But, just don't get this Company. You will regret it.

As of Nov 24,2015 we are dissatisfied with Champion Windows, We purchased windows in 2006 in Virginia and they were put in with precision and well done, the workmanship was outstanding. So when we decided to put the windows in our home in NY state, in 2011 they were again done right. So in October 2015 We decided to finish doing the house and do another door, well now we begin our nightmare. 1. Arrived in afternoon instead of morning as promised, only 2 people instead of 4. 2.Door came in wrong size, on both the packaging and the actual door, had to reorder, no one new why it was the wrong size. 3. Late in day so promised to be back in am to finish windows. Again showed up late in date, put in one window, the other window was wrong style, size and wrong number of panels. This had to be reordered, after reading my contract. 4. Wrote to the Home office, received one call from some lady, but could only repeat what was already told to me they would have to reorder the window and door. 5. Received call Dec 22,2015 stating they window and door has been received would be here to put them in on Wednesday Dec 30, by 11 am. It is the 30th of Dec and 1 pm No show. Call headquarters and was asked my name 3 times, address 2 times, put on hold and them was told that someone would call me back, because no one was available right now to talk to me. I think Champion should have a complete overhaul of personnel, and how they treat customers. As one person put it for the cost of the windows and doors that we pay they should treat the customer better, I know that I am NOT going to advise anyone to purchase Champion Windows.

Champion doesn't care after they have your $$

We bought 9 Champion windows for our upstairs to the tune of $4983.00 in 2004. As the years have gone by we have had seal failure on many, if not all of them. Their responsiveness to support the Lifetime warranty has gradually gotten worse with each replacement for seal failure. Service has been out here twice in the last 12 years by my records, to replace failed windows. Now the local office is closed and the closest location to handle warranty work is almost 200 miles away. So far this (the 3rd) time I called they sent someone to verify and place the order. He wanted to charge me a "trip" fee where my warranty says NO CHARGE. He said he could waive the fee this time. That was over 8 weeks ago since their rep came out and I have heard not a word back. We had Window World come out for the same issues on the downstairs windows, but they replaced within 4 weeks, cheerfully. If I could afford it, I'd dump all my champion windows and switch to WW. What good is Champion's warranty if they don't respond?

Lifetime warranty is a hoax

Replaced 21 windows in my home using Champion in Denver, wanted to support local business. Had an energy home audit done on my home and the infrared camera detected that all of the Windows leaked badly. Called Champion service, they came out, I showed them the audit results and the tech proceeded to inspect the exterior. His determination was exterior sealing failure which they do not cover. OK, but my complaint wasn't that the walls were cold it was the fact that the window assembly/seals were leaking cold/hot air and would indicate a failure that should be covered by the warranty. Tech put the *** on, walked out and proceeded to bill me $75 for the service. Buyer be ware, poor quality product, poor installation and no real warranty that they will honor.

Horrible Customer Service, Employees Lie and are Unreliable

Sorry I ever invested my $ in my Champion windows four years ago when I replaced all of my windows in my home. Filed a complaint today with the Better Business Bureau because of the lack of customer service and communication in the Atlanta office. Upon discovering a leaky window, Brooks, the technician manager was a no-call, no-show on Dec. 7 after it took over 3 weeks just to get a returned call and schedule an appointment. My husband and I both lost out on pay leaving work early on Dec. 7 to meet Brooks, who denied to Victor, the manager, that we ever had an appointment that day. Brooks asked to reschedule the appointment that day because he needed to reschedule it from Dec. 4 due to family issues! He then lied about this to Victor during our phone conversation today. Brooks finally came out on Saturday, Dec. 12 and said he would schedule an appointment to fix the issue and my husband and I were mislead to believe we were receiving two replacement windows because of water leaking in. The technicians came out on Jan. 18. No windows were replaced - only flashing above the window. Brooks also lied to Victor about communicating with us the work that would be down on the window to correct the issue. He never told us about the $99 service charge that accompanied the work even though the windows are under warranty. Again, he lied to his boss about communicating to us about a service charge, which I refused to pay. What's the purpose of having a warranty? Spent over $10k on these piece of garbage windows almost 4 years ago. Victor, the manager of the Atlanta facility, called me this morning and sided with Brooks who lied about it all. Only after stating I would file a Better Business Bureau complaint, did Victor offer to discount the service charge by $25 - and only if it kept me from filing the complaint, which I filed and they still refuse to right their wrong. I have no tolerance for lies, lack of communication and poor customer service. Champion claims they "provide quality customer service", which is far from the experience I am having with them. Just want them to make the issue right. Save your money and choose another window provider.

Champion Windows - Window Review from Waukegan, Illinois

I had my initial home quote 10/31/15. I ordered 14 windows, it took till January 30 for installation .

Out of the 14 windows 13 were completely wrong.

They reordered and replaced them but to this day the bathroom window was not reordered in the correct size and i am still waiting. Does anyone have an email or phone number to the CEO Todd Dickson i believe he is the current one?

Which location are you in ... I may be in a similar situation ...

time will tell ... did you have any luck yet ... I am short one window because of size ... did you have other sites you complained to ...

in these days of social media, the more the better ...

they have about 2 or 3 more weeks to get mine finished or I start blasting everywhere ...

Champion Doors of Albany, NY worst customer service ever

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I purchased a Champion patio door on 9/25/2015. I chose Champion rather than Pella, even though the cost was comparable. I made the wrong decision, for the reasons listed below:

1. Unethical sales approach - the Champion salesman "gave me" a preferred price provided that I give him copies of the quotes I received from other patio door companies. For the record, I did not give that information to him.

2. Shoddy installation - the installers seemed rushed and results show. After they left, I found multiple exposed nail holes, dirty finger prints, debris on the floor, and worse - a dent in the door frame. I contacted Champion immediately. It took over 2 weeks before someone from Champion returned my call. I have been assured that a new frame has been ordered and will be installed at no charge to me.

3. On November 12, 2015 the patio door lock broke.

I have owned this door since September 25th. I am not happy with the service or the quality of the door. For $2,000 I expect a door to be installed well and for the product to perform as expected. In addition, the security of my home was compromised.

I have repeatedly asked to have the door removed immediately and be refunded the entire amount so that I can purchase a Pella door, which I should have done in the first place. I wrote to the CEO of Champion and got no response. No one returns my phone calls. Meanwhile I paid $2,000 for a door with a dent in it.

Over a year now, and still waiting to finalize!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I bought Windows for my whole house in Nov 2015. By January, nothing....February....March then got installation in April.

Didn't like how one of the windows turned out (it also came in with the glass broken), so another $400 and additional delay. They didn't caulk around one of the windows (how do you forget that when it's your business?). Finally got everything finished this summer. In October, I applied for a building permit with the City of Austin for a different project, and found out there was still an open permit from the windows.

Final inspection was never done (and I had no idea of any of this). Called Champion and they told me that I had denied access to my house, so the inspection was not done!! After trouble getting through to Champion, the rep and I arrived at some dates for the inspection (one of which is today). I called earlier this week to check on status, and was told he had forgotten to call the city, but that he could call yesterday afternoon and they would be out this morning.

Not so! So here goes another call to Champion, which will probably entail getting a call center, which takes my information and tells me they will email the local office, and I won't get to speak to anyone.

Very frustrating and I would NOT use them again. Have a pretty good case of buyer's remorse.

Promised good quality but not true

I replaced the Amsco builder quality windows with Champion windows about 9 months ago. While they are costly and the salesmen will say they are high quality windows they are not better than the AMSCO windows. Noise levels are the same and I specifically asked the windows be quieter. So far this winter I have noticed my house is drafty which is new. I'm waiting to see what the heating bill will be like. Last year we kept the thermostat on 68 and it was comfortable because of no drafts. We feel the chill in the air with it set to 70 right now. The windows qualified at the lowest level possible for our natural gas company's efficiency program and didn't qualify at all for the electric company's efficiency program. Both lies from our salesman. The warranty is good, although you have to pay $75 per visit after two years. I managed to get that fee waived in writing though. The windows are easier to clean. Save your money and buy from another company. You will definitely pay less for the same quality.

Salesman walked out

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Tom arrived on time for appointment after circling the block twice. I had a meeting with my oncologist scheduled for one hour later and told him I was on a tight schedule.

I showed him the bedroom I wanted windows installed in first, he measured the windows and began a sales pitch that began with an explanation of Energy Star ratings. I indicated that he needed to hurry this process as I had a brief time in which to discuss this before I needed to leave. He became upset, said he could not do his job in 30 minutes (he had 40 left at this point) and packed his materials and left.

Strong impression I missed a hardcore sales pitch. If this is the customer service going in I'd hate to see what warranty service is like.

If the salesman was worth a ***, he would show empathy for her medical situation and give the quote. It takes about 1 minute to offer the price.

Guest

He is a salesman. Not there to give you hurry up free quotes.

Were you buying or just looking for the cheapest guy?

Did you tell him when scheduling that you only had an hour?

Oncologist appointment?

How is that his fault that you have no scheduling foresight?

Go to Home Depot. You are their customer.

You obviously don't respect the salesperson that came to your home or his time.

I would walk out too.

Wind Howels and Blinds Swing

Approximately 4 years ago we had all our windows replaced with Champion Windows. I truly believe the installer took short cuts and did not adequately Insulate the windows. Ther are all drafty and when the wind blows the blinds actually move. They are cold and drafty. The windows that these replaced were far better than what we have now. They are not the quality The salesman stated they were. Richard James, an unsatified customer! Phone number 401-545-****
